Job Description

Ready to build what's next with one of the world's most iconic brands?

Why Join Subway?

At Subway, we are not standing still. We are building. This is a business focused on what matters most: growing franchisee profitability, strengthening our brand and creating long-term value. The people who thrive here are the ones who want to make a real impact. You will not just do the work. You will shape it.

We move fast. We think like owners. We make decisions that matter. We hold ourselves to a high standard because what we do directly impacts thousands of franchisees around the world. If you bring energy, accountability and a bias for action, you will fit right in. We take the work seriously, but we also know the best results come from teams that support each other, celebrate wins and show up ready to build something better every day. This is your chance to be part of what's next.

About the Role:

The Senior Manager, Quality, Protein owns quality for Subway's protein category across the United States, including deli meats, poultry, beef, pork, seafood and cheese. Sets and holds the specification for every protein item, manages supplier performance with IPC, and makes sure new and changed protein products launch to spec. • Supplier management. Lead supplier approval, onboarding and plant audits with IPC. Drive corrective actions that hold. Run supplier scorecards and manage supplier transitions from first production to steady state.
  • Commercialization and Design to Value. Partner with Culinary through stage gate on new and changed protein items. Lead product matching and supplier qualification for Design to Value projects.
  • Ready-to-eat protein controls. Verify supplier controls for ready-to-eat protein, including Listeria controls, environmental monitoring and process validation such as HPP. Partner with Food Safety on holds, withdrawals and incident response.
  • Complaint and data analysis. Track protein complaint trends and quality data. Find root causes and close gaps with suppliers and distribution

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Meat or Animal Science, Food Science, Microbiology or related field required.
  • 7+ years of experience in food manufacturing, QSR, foodservice or food retail, including supplier quality and plant audits in a USDA-inspected environment
  • Deep knowledge of meat; poultry and cheese processing, quality systems and specifications preferred
  • Working knowledge of USDA-FSIS and FDA requirements for ready-to-eat protein, including Listeria control
  • HACCP certification is a plus. PCQI and GFSI auditor training preferred
  • Experience auditing supplier and co-manufacturing plants and driving corrective action
  • Sensory and product evaluation skills for protein products
  • Data-driven problem solving: complaint trends, scorecards and root cause analysis
  • Strong supplier management and influence skills
  • Clear, direct communication and the ability to manage several projects at once
  • Up to 35% domestic travel to supplier and manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and restaurants.
